A fishy episode

I had ikan terubuk last night and went thru a nightmare when a fish bone got stuck in my throat. I tried almost everything under the sun to remove the bone even ate more rice to force the bone down. Unfortunately, the bone remained stuck and I had to endure the discomfort the whole day attending a conference. I drank gallons of mineral water trying my best to flush it down. Tough luck, it didn’t work, the only good thing came out of it, is me heading towards the restroom every 10 minutes.

It got me worried so I drove straight to my favourite GP and Alhamdulillah he managed to remove the fish bone :P When he showed me the bone, I was soo relieved.

I wonder whether any of you might have encountered the same “tulang ikan tersekat” problem. Any tips?? I guess I will NOT be having fish for the next one week, taubat!!

Karma rules...that is SO true!

Do you believe in the ol' saying, "What goes around, comes around"? I...do!!! I was having a chat with a friend a few days back and she was telling me about how evil her ex colleague was in backstabbing her when she first joined the department. Her ex-colleague was so mean and evil that she made my friend's life a living hell. My friend had bad nightmares back then, traumatized by the bad mouthing and "cucuking" but I guess in life one will never know when all that evil/negativity actions would probably do a U-TURN and hit him/her back when she/he least expects it. Luck was on my friend's side where she was fortunate to have gotten her promotion twice and the backstabber currently has been instructed to report directly to my friend, ie. her portfolio, KPI, personal target etc, she needs to get my friend's approval. Life is fair eh. Muahahaha.

So I guess the moral of the story is: Be nice to people, be it your colleagues, friends and especially your parents. Never take them for granted :) I still remember the interesting story my ex-boss used to tell me of a despatch boy who became a prominent guy in one of the major banks in Paris! Oh well, in life you will never know what will hit you next.

Scary...

I was in Masjid India yesterday for some shopping. I had a few things to buy in my list i.e, a few batik caftans and a telekung. Since it was still the CNY holiday, we decided to just take the LRT train straight to Masjid Jamek.

I do shop at Masjid India occasionally especially when the kakak needs to get her tudungs and what not. Anyway, while I was infront of a shop at Wisma Yakin, kakak tapped me on the back and said “adik, kita berhenti kat sini aje”. She gave me this alarming and worried look. I quickly went into the shop. She told me about a guy who was following me for about 100 meters or so. And she said the guy pretended to look around for something whenever I stopped to look and check out some stuff. She was suspicious of the guy and she noticed his weird actions as she was walking a few steps behind him. He probably did not know that she was with me, as we normally walk a few meters apart from each other..hehe!

As soon as I heard her story, we decided to plan our strategies and run as fast as we can. As soon as he looked away, both us just ran and used the path along the bazaar where there were stream of people. I was sure he could not detect us as we were among the massive crowd. Pheeeww!

That incident made me think again about Masjid India and its surroundings. I bet the mystery man was probably trying to find a way to snatch my handbag etc. Well, he must have had bad intentions to follow me in that way…I am thankful, nothing bad happened to me. Well, luckily, I had kakak to accompany me as well. Syukur, Alhamdulillah. I guess if you ever decide to go to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman or Masjid India, never go alone eh.
