Singapore madness…

I am back at the office and all I can think at the moment is my bed at home. I had a splendid time in Singapore for the great shopping sale and surprisingly I managed to get all the things I had in my list. The weather was extremely hot and humid, but I guess being a typical female, it did not bother me much. Who cares about the weather when the great sale is on right?!

The madness started of with me getting on the Aeroline bus on Saturday morning with a close friend of mine. After yesterday, I would definitely recommend the Aeroline Executive Coach to everyone. I simply enjoyed their professional service. The journey was smooth, the driver was very skilled and the food they served on the coach was simple but tasty. It was a good jump-start for a 2 day Singapore escapade. Oh yeah and talk about punctuality, Aeroline was just excellent, the coach left both spots, PJ and Singapore right on the dot. No hassle at all. With all the good reviews I have given, I should be getting a free return ticket to Singapore eh??...hehehe.

The pick up point is at Menara Axis, PJ

Arrived at the Waterfront Plaza at 1pm and headed straight to the hotel. The hotel was in the Tanjong Katong area. The hotel was a last minute decision as all the hotels along Orchard were fully booked. Nonetheless, I am glad I chose this hotel as it is near to ‘Geylang Serai’. The short distance made it so much easier for me to buy those awesome crispy curry puffs that I know I will never find them here in KL. Yummy-licious….:D I grew up with those curry-puffs as I used to spend most of my child hood holidays in Singapore since my grandparents are Singaporeans. My verdict of the hotel-convenient, comfortable and very clean. However one setback was the noisy neighbours we had next door. They were too noisy for us as we could NOT get any sleep at 1 am. I was fuming mad, so I called the receptionist assistance. Finally after they got their warnings, we got our beauty sleep. Oh and I watched Singapore Idol on TV, a new group of fresh faces.

The Singaporean Immigration parking bay at the Second link, it looks pretty deserted dont you think?

The cosy spot in the hotel room

We spent both Saturday and Sunday in the city, I was scrutinizing the main malls along Orchard and Scotts Road. First stop was the DFS Galleria, this is the place for branded goods ie Coach, Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Burberry etc. Hmm, I only bought a multiple coloured lip gloss palette from Estee that I really fancied. Galleria I would say caters more for the Japanese customers as they normally display tags with the prices, compared against the Japan market. The Japs were everywhere in Galleria, I guess for them, it is worth buying even after the conversion.

Just couldnt resist the Singapore version of nasi lemak with 'ikan goreng'.

We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, Singapore

What I had on Saturday night was Seafood Linguini...

The sales in Tangs, Takashimaya and Marks & Spencer (M&S) was pretty amazing. Encountered a few good deals I knew I could never find in KL. So I went berserk…but managed to control myself a few times :D The Isetan in Singapore has many unique collections/designs of jewellery. They were just beautiful. Gosh, since I have a fetish for this area, I have to admit there was rather a slight damage to my wallet. There were too many malls and very little time to cover. But what I noticed about Orchard Road is that, they have MNG almost at every corner of the road, they have two M&S, two/three same branded boutiques, but then again the things they have differs from one outlet to another. That explains my still aching feet.

A few dangling earrings from Tangs

A few chokers and a wallet from Tangs

I truly enjoyed the ‘Great Singapore Sale’! I had a wonderful trip and hope to come back again. The next time round would be for the good food and the Sentosa Island.

Have a great week you all!

Oh, and I can’t still accept the fact that Brazil will not be playing in the finals. Sigh!! What went wrong eh?

Yeap, soo quiet, I guess it will be better to take the bus rather than the car. Hopefully the plans to have a bullet train from KL to Spore becomes a reality. 90 mins to reach Singapore..awesome kan!
