A bumpy week…

It is only the middle of the week and I am still feeling the Monday blues. I have been working my ass off since Monday and now I am in need of a short break. Just a short break to unwind my all tensed up eyes and shoulders. Olalaaaa, I can imagine myself lazing on an island and staring at the beautiful beach.

To think of it, I really admire those who have been in the working force for many, many years. I wonder where do they get all the drive and energy to perform for the BIG 30 years or more??. I used to see my Dad, day in day out leaving home at 6.45am and working till late hours and yet can still smile and laugh. He loves his work so much that he doesn’t mind having to work through the nights. He started of with the airline industry at the age of 20 and retired in the same industry. Even after that he can’t stop talking about his work. He always has that satisfied smile on his face. I wish I can be just like him! That is why you need to love your job. You must have that particular passion burning inside of you to excel and perform your very best. Sigh! Where is my passion and drive?? I am more like a zombie nowadays. It is time for me to sit down and think seriously about my career path. Can I see myself in the same industry for next 5 or 10 years down the road? Oh well, time to do some soul searching.

My normal routine for this week is just work, work, work and sleep. I only managed to watch the movie “Failure to Launch” on Monday night. I’ve always wanted to watch this movie ever since it was shown in the cinemas, but never did get the chance. The timing was never right. But after watching the movie on DVD, I am so glad I watched it at home. So glad! The main cast are Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey. I found Matthew to be rather old for the “Trip” character. I didn’t fancy the movie much, as the flow is a little bit on the dry side.

I am counting my days for the coming Saturday, there will be a family gathering since my brother-in-law (BIL) will be back for a short holiday. It will also be a combined birthday bash for all the June, July and August BIG babies of the family. I’m all geared up for the food…yummy! The menu as at todate comprises of Satay Hj Samuri, Mee Rebus Singapore, Crab Chilly, Cakes, Hot dogs with mustard (drooling already!) etc.

Happy working all!
