I did not expect to get tickets for the Da Vinci Code movie yesterday. Booking through the tele-booking was impossible as all seats were taken up since morning. However after work, determined to watch the movie, I decided to just try my luck at the TGV counter and wallaa...got two tickets!
My friends who had read the book, was disappointed with the Da Vinci Code movie. Yup, it was the same for me when I watched "Memoirs of a Geisha" last year. I was so disappointed! Since I read the Arthur Golden's masterpiece twice, I was expecting something so much more than the simple plot in the movie. Well, can't expect the producers to squeeze all those juicy stuff in the book into a 2 hour movie right? However, they did quite well with the movie set up and props. I remember the breathtaking sceneries of Sayuri with the cherry blossoms and the hot springs. Hmm, you can never get the best of both worlds, it's either you win some here or you lose some there.
I learned my lesson from the first round, so this time, I had no expectations what so ever as I plan to skip reading the book all together (reason is, I'm just lazy ;D) and just go straight to the movies. The movie duration was more than 2 hours and I loved the movie. I thought Tom Hanks was OK! The set up of the movie were done mainly in Paris and England. I also read in the papers today, that the scenes you see in the Louvre were actually done in real. It was done in the Louvre itself, no man made settings. Gosh, those car chasing scenes brought me down memory lane. One can never forget the exquisite museum and art gallery, Louvre and the refine Paris architecture. After watching the movie, I was sure then that I need to get the book as I am still not done with Da Vinci Code ;D

Da Vinci the book was really good. I was kept at the edge of my seat from one page to the other..You should read it la!!
I saw it last Thursday! I didn't read the book and had no idea what the movie was all about as my friend got free tickets and asked me to watch it with her. Some scenes were gory! But I think the movie overall is just OK, not fantastic or bad either.
To read a book is always better, like the Shawshank Redemption, movie was good but book was great :)
Ms Adorable,
You take yr time because sekarang ni crowded...since it is overrated. Wait till the crowd subside then you watch, peaceful sikit.
Lil sis,
Yup, I shall baca the book.
SS,
Lucky you, since you got your tickets for free. Yeah, I guess the movie is over rated! Actually I prefer reading as it gets you involved mentally with all the massive imaginations..:)
Ohh, I love Shawshank Redemption. My next movie will have to be MI3.
