My morning ritual would not be complete without the daily newspapers. Thus that explains why I was distracted with some info on good food. The Sun paper had an article on a survey initiated by KL Lifestyle magazine sometime in August 2005. It was done in conjunction with their second anniversary. It involved the magazine readers and the readers were asked to vote their favourite restaurants in several categories. The readers had three months to vote via sms and KL lifestyle magazine was supposed to collate the votes and come up with the list. So there I was scrutinizing the list……

Favourite Chinese Restaurant - Chynna Hilton KL
Favourite IndoChinese/Thai restaurant – Tamarind Springs
Favourite Seafood restaurant – Unique Seafood
Favourite Mediterranean/Italian restaurant – Bologna, Istana Hotel KL
Favourite Fusion restaurant – Etoile Bistro, Equatorial Hotel KL
Favourite Steakhouse- The Ship
Favourite Japanese restaurant- Kampachi, Equatorial Hotel
Favourite Nyonya restaurant – Ah Tuan Ee, Berjaya Times

Looking at the list, most of the restaurants are located in hotels. I can imagine the price list. It could lead to permanent damage to my wallet. Hehe! I wish they had the list of best spots/restaurants for dim sum lovers. I just love dim sum, currently my favourite spot for dim sum is located at the Giant Hypermarket in Kelana Jaya.

Hmmm what is this dim sum place called? I'd love to check it out. Another place good for dim sum is Holiday Inn's chinese restaurant, I don't know whether they still have the Sunday buffet, the dim sum are yummy and the porridge is just the best. Not sure if they're still called Holiday Inn, they keep changing names. The one I went to is the one in Shah Alam.:)
It is called The Dim Sum Cafe. Located in the new Giant, Kelana Jaya on the same floor as Pizza Hut. It was featured in Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan long time ago. I wouldn't say it is the bestla, it is my fave because of its location, dekat and senang parking. I have tried better dim sum in the Chinese restaurant in Quality Hotel, KL previously known as Holiday Inn. Haven't been to the one in Shah Alam, BTW if I am not mistaken the Holiday Inn shah Alam has changed names to Quality Hotel. I like the prawn dim sum..yummylicious!
Ooo, hello there! I blog-hopped from .... somewhere (I can't remember!). :D
Dim sum sounds really nice. My mummy loves them too, but it's difficult to find halal ones in Singapore.
Hiya Ajab booboo.
U look sooo cute :)
I cam imagine the difficulty in getting halal dim sums in S'pore.
Nevermind, you are welcome to have dim sums in M'sia. But not all dim sum restaurants in M'sia is halal though.
Psst: I also think your name is cute.
Dim sum... yummy! I used to frequent this place in Plaza Damas (Yum Cha) which, to me, had the best dim sum. But last year it closed down. Dunno what happened?!
Will try the one at Giant KJ.
Shakiraz,
Have seen this Yam Cha restaurant but have never had the chance to try it. Laa dah tutup ke? Nowadays it is soo difficult to get good halala dim sum restaurants. Do try the one in Giant, nothing fancy but not bad.
