Just like everyone else, my sisters were busy baking cookies for Raya. They did the kuih makmur and biskut arab. Much to my surprise, the cookies turned out nice..hehe :)
While they were busy baking, I was busy in my room hibernating...the cosy bed was just too much to resist. The weather was extremely hot and humid during the weekend which indirectly contributed to my malasness. All I did was help them mix the fruits with the butter and flour to make the fruit cake.

biskut makmur (minus the icing sugar)Normally, our kuih raya comprises of kuih "tunjuk", that is the easiest way eh! This year we decided to bake a few which happens to be my arwah mama's favourite just to remind us of her during this holy month of Ramadhan and Syawal.

dnas, a fellow blogger, this kuih makmur recipe is for you:-
Bahan:-
- 1kg tepung gandum
- 500gm minyak sapi
- 250gm kacang tanah
- 250gm gula aising
Cara menyediakan:-
- Tepung gandum diuli bersama minyak sapi sehingga sebati dan boleh dibentuk
- Kacang tanah digoreng dan ditumbuk kasar kemudian digaul dengan aising
- Bentukkan tepung sesuka hati dan isikannya dengan kacang tanah tadi
- Bakar kira2 15 minit pada suhu ketuhar 15oC dan setelah sejuk gaul dengan gula aising.

buy pun buy..but this year saja je nak buat kuih sendiri...just to try out my mom's recipe. My aunt just called, she will be giving us 3 types of cakes..yummy!

we decided to bake this year ....dah bertahun tak try out my arwah mama's secret recipe. Kuih beli pun banyak jugak especially pineapple tarts.. Raya tak completela kalau tak de pineapple tarts kan...:)

This year, due to tight schedules, my siblings and I just buy the kuehs for the parents.
Maybe, if we are up to it, probably this weekend Buka Puasa at my parents, we might sit down together and bake some like old times.....

biskut arab is my favourite, easy to bake and it taste yummy too.
Buying kueh helps actually when you dont have the time to shop for ingredients and sit infront of the oven. And chances of the bought kuehs being "tak sedap" is very minimal.

i agree, the heat really is the main contributing factor to the lack of productivity...
kalau bab buat kuih raya ni, i tukang rasa je, paling2 pun tukang bubuh kismis, choc chips bla bla bla...
what to do, my sis and my mom dominate the whole scene... and i can be a catastrophe ih the kitchen haha...

Yeah since you get to taste the samples of kuih tunjuk way before hand chances of the cookies tak sedap is ver minimal. :)
