I just got back from a 2 hour training with Reuters this afternoon, in one of the offices in Petronas Twin Tower, all giddy with so much info/knowledge and yummy chocolate bars that they always have at the counter for people like me to enjoy. (Oh well, since it is fasting month I took back a few for “berbuka puasa”) Muahaha! I look forward to it whenever I am there for short classes. I bet my colleagues will agree with me on this :D

I really hope that they will nab the bastard(s) who did this to her. For the past few weeks, I have been hearing several comments from others that sound more or less like this “ I blame the parents for letting her go alone”. Well, I am not here to judge her parents, because only God knows what they are going through right now. My main corncern is that the culprit with the sick mind is brought to justice for his beyond animal behaviour!! So SICK that it makes me wanna puke!

1st update:
DNA tests show body found in the gym bag is Nurin.
But parents adamant that it is NOT her.
Second test scheduled.
Final update:
Nurin's parents accepted the first DNA test after going thru the DNA report with the police and on the following day, her father claimed Nurin's body for burial. Apart from the DNA test, Nurin's dental records showed a 95% match. People from all walks of life cried their hearts out for her as it was such a sad tragedy.
Many visited her family's residence to pay their last respects. Malaysia mourns for the sad loss. We pray that her father, mother and sisters will be strong in overcoming this nightmare. I pray and hope that the sick bastard will be caught! It is a big loss not only to her family but to everyone who knew her, and the way she was killed is so unbelievable. Good bye you, little angle and may you rest in peace.

I heard on the news too. Such a sad sad day..For her parents' sake I hope it's not her :(
When are they going to announce the 2nd DNA test result? I'm still in denial.

I was hoping the dead girl wasn't Nurin but the DNA results shocked me. I don't know what to believe now since her parents are denying its her.
How can anybody do such barbaric thing? I hope when the real criminal(s) are caught and proven guilty, the authority will parade them naked, dragged behind a four wheeler... thru the streets of KL...

This is so sad, so tragic. Such things should not happen. We can't even imagine her parent's pain. Can we hope for a better world?

What has the world turned into? We can never feel safe wherever we are, even in our own homes...this is a wakeup call for the authorites that more initiatives shld be taken to increase the safety for all Malaysians...let'

It is HER, sad to say. No child deserves to die that way. I cannot imagine how hurtful and painful it is for her parents, it must be difficult to accept the fact that the helpless girl lying in the mortuary is their child. It breaks my heart to see her parents crying and her fragile face being displayed on the papers :(
I really hope that the police is working on something as the beast NEEDS to be brought to justice! Hmm, hukum di sula pun bagus jugak!

Yup, the DNA results shocked us all. When her dad said NO, everyone kept at that, not sure what to believe but as soon as teh DNA test proved her to be Nurin, it was pretty shocking don’t you think but at the same time I could not believe that anyone could do such a thing to a sweet looking girl. Be it Nurin or not!

But I wonder, when they do finally catch him, would he be feeling any guilt of what so ever. May be what we say or do will not make a difference to this beast.
Yeah and no one deserves to die that way I agree. Well things happen for a reason, may be from this sad tragedy, we as Malaysians can do something about it and not just let this gory nightmare fade away. We should take this as a lesson learnt and make sure it never happens again. For parents, please monitor your kids closely, for strangers please, when you see a kid being forced into a van, don’t keep quiet and wait till police were to ask you for tips. Take the initiative, jot down the registration no and call the police. It makes a difference you know! How can you live peacefully knowing that you saw something eh?
It takes a lot to make the world a safer place to live in. So please take it seriously.

We can hope but we can also play a role, be a responsible citizen, report a crime when we see one, be extra cautious when we have kids with us, never let them out of our sight not even for a minute, be extra helpful with our neighbours wheen the need arises, all in all we need to have a caring society.
