The flying scissors......

Alhamdulillah, my Dad’s cataract operation went well. He is now resting at home waiting anxiously for his stitches to heal. Apart from attending to my dad, last weekend was a breeze for me as I had to go to the office to complete my work and do my rounds of the Raya open house. I can’t eat as much as I used to, ever since I had the gastritis problem. I can only “jeling” the sambal kacang, sayur lodeh and rendang the other day….Damn :P

Apart from the Raya dishes, I also had to eat the Hotel food (am not complaining here as the food was good) for two whole days (Mon & Tue) as I was tied up at a Banker’s Conference in one of the hotels in Jalan Ampang. It was a big event and the speakers were from all over the world. There was this one particular speaker who is well known for his banking knowledge and experience. He has written many financial related books that I have been reading for the past few years. His books are pretty good I tell ya! I hope they will fly him here again for many more conferences.

I guess this is gonna be my last conference for this year and also the last free Hotel food for two whole consecutive days..muaaahahaa..:P Just like everyone else, I too love attending conferences as I get to meet the people from the same industry, bankers where we can exchange ideas and knowledge about certain issues. And the best part is you will never know who you will bump into at these conferences. For instance today, during lunch, I bumped and spoke to a guy casually and only to discover later that he was a COO of one of the reputable banks in Singapore…Gosh!..(if only I had known, I would have handed him my resume…hehe....). It is the perfect place to build up your connections eh!

Oh well, there goes the 2 day event and now back to work and reality. I need to catch up on the daily newspapers and latest issues. I was pretty shocked to read an article in the papers today about how a mother physically abused her 3 year old toddler and tried to persuade her step son to take the blame instead. Talk about inhuman behaviour!

All these hardcore abuses, fights, human behaviour, negligence and attitude made me think about what my elder sis told me a few minutes ago about my lil nephew and his small cut. It happened while he was in school this morning. You know how kids can be so playful at times. Well today one kid was too playful that he threw a scissors he was holding in the air. It was done spontaneously without even thinking what the consequences would be. Unfortunately the scissors hit my nephew’s head. Although, It was a small cut but my sister was worried. I asked him howit happened, he said, "Ayol pun tak tau, tiba2 Ayol see a flying scissors" :-P

I was too appalled by that news about the mother who abused her kid. How could she throw her 3 year old boy to the wall and pijak2 his perut some more? The nerve of her!!!
The things people do when they are so angry.....

Kids are always adorable and innocent. It's the surroundings which moulds them - stressful parents, weird teachers, unfair world, too much TV... hmm.. dunno-lah.

Dulu my lil bro fell down in school cos he was having this 'friendly wrestling match' with his friends. He fell head down into the drain & had to get stitches on his chin. Boys will be boys, I guess. And with the influence of today's TV.. Let's just pray.

nzn,
hmmm, kids nowadays are very brave..not like us dulu...semua macam takut-takut je..well sometimes it is the environment that moulds them into who they are now. Well that lady if she didn't want the kid she shld have given him to someone who would love and care for him. Some people susah nak dapat anak and some people pulak boleh buat macam tu kat anak dia. Sad ain't it?

azer,
I'm glad too. Thanks for your kind wishes :)
