Tennis lessons??

A close friend of mine popped out a question out of the blues yesterday. She asked whether I was interested in taking up tennis lessons with her. It did not take me long to say no to her. Hehehe! Well, don’t get me wrong, I love tennis but through my childhood experiences I realised that tennis can be rather stressful for me. Especially back then, me coming from an all girls’ school having to go for tennis lessons in an all boys’ school. My first few months were mainly focused on picking up balls and running aimlessly to hit the ball. Damn it was tiring.

Till now I still wonder why the hell did I enroll myself for tennis lessons during secondary school?? Hmm especially when it involves a coach? May be because I was an ardent follower of the tennis tournaments and players. So it just got to my head of how great it would be if I did end up being a professional tennis player. Muaahahha. What made it even easier at that time was having a brother who was not only a good tennis player but also knowledgeable of the game. He did give me a few pointers here and there, but somehow I was a slow and confused student. I blame it on my lousy coach!! yayaya…;D

Talking about tennis brought me through the time tunnel where I remembered all those gigantic posters of Andre Agassi on my bedroom walls. By the way, it was posters of him with those thick and sexy long locks. ;D Well those were the good ol’ days when he was always dynamic and aggressive on the clay courts. My favourite was watching him play in the French Open. Apart from Andre Agassi, my all time fave would be Goran Ivanisevic from Croatia. His greatest victory is when he won the tennis “ Wimbledon” tournament in 2001. Goran is known for his temper tantrums and brilliant aces. Nobody thought he would be the one lifting the Wimbledon trophy at that time as he was only ranked world no 125. Well, I guess thanks to the wild card entry he was given back then.

Goran Ivanisevic after the Wimbledon Tournament 2001 final match. I remembered how good he fought back after losing a few points going deuce, advantage and deuce...sampai pecah perut tengok!

Sigh, I dunno what ever happen to Goran after that, wonder if he is still playing or has he retired. Or he could be concentrating on the doubles game. Ohhh and what ever happen to Boris Becker and the scandal he had with a model or was it a dancer in the cupboard..Muaahaha! Nowadays, I do not follow much on tennis or even other types of sports. That’s bad huh.

I shall skip tennis lessons for now and concentrate on my new mission that is brisk walking. It does not cost much and pretty relaxing eh.

haha, used to take tennis lessons in high school too :) Was never a good player, though.

I've just started to take up tennis again (for fun) after being persuaded (more like forced, actually) by close friends. I'm still playing like a klutz, but at least I sweat due to the running and picking of balls :)

Loved andre agassi too.. teringat his 'fashion statement' of wearing shorts over tights thingy. Kinda cool (kalau ikut dulu punya std, lah!)

Hi Shakiraz,
Hahah, I agree tennis is definitely the game for lots and lots of sweating..a lot of running too!
Ohh the tights and the NIKE collection. Tak taulah if he is still the ambassador. Nowadays he goes for white je.
Psst I went to the "hometown kopitiam" in the Curve...not bad.

Adorable,
You,dia tolak campur tu because of the match point sometimes...kalau the player masukkan bola in the court (advantage) add points kalau out (deuce) tolak pulak points.Pretty confusing, I agree.
I gi brisk walking kat rumah je, around the area. You are welcome to join?? Or we can check out the taman?
