Is facebook a craze??

I didn’t think I would be addicted to Facebook until I registered myself with it a month ago. It is pretty addictive I tell you and I read in the papers recently that Facebook is a growing craze among users. What I personally like about Facebook is the applications they have and what I can do with them. Awesome! My favourite application is the ilike and the selection of gifts they have that you can give to your friends online. Oohhh and not to forget the yummylicious pictures of the ice cream selection. The ice cream pictures look almost real and pretty disturbing la. I stared at the ice cream and chocolate lists all day long yesterday (Since I was on leave and I had plenty of time to laze aroud!:D). Oooopss, looking at them is better than going to the nearest ice cream shop and feasting on them right? Hehehe!

However the setback of having an account with Facebook is bumping into people from the past who you have been avoiding. People who you intend to avoid forever (hehe) or somehow "vanished" from your life for many years. Long lost friends who had probably hurt your feelings or betrayed your friendship. So I guess being on Facebook has its advantages and disadvantages. It is up to us on how far we want to re-establish those long lost friendships that went haywire during those transitions etc. If we are uncomfortable with it, there is always the “private settings” application, hence to curb the unnecessary viewing by strangers or others.

So folks, have fun with Facebook! Those who have not registered…do give it a go!

We miss you...

Today, the "19th of November" as always is a very special day for me and my family. It is my arwah mother’s Birthday. Sad to say, from this year onwards there will be no more birthday preparations and gatherings to celebrate this extra special day except a small tahlil we did especially for arwah yesterday and Insyaallah for many many years ahead. We miss you mama more and more each day but we know you are in a better place and Allah loves you even more and Allah the Almighty knows what is best for all of us.

Al Fatihah. Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan bersama-bersama orang-orang yang beriman.

As always, we love you mama!

Awesome teambuilding and my body aches like hell!

Since we are already in the fourth quarter of the year, many of us might be rushing to finish up our annual leave entitlements while many companies/organizations are busy hosting their respective teambuilding or away day sessions locally or abroad. The division I am currently attached to, organized a conference cum dinner in A Famosa, Malacca last Thursday and Friday. We were asked (more like forced to..heheh!!) to come up with singing/sketch/karaoke performances. We were split into groups/teams and were asked to perform or participate in groups/teams. Oh well, you know that time of the year where you are given the opportunity to humiliate and make a fool of yourself. Hehehe!

My team, we were pretty horrible when we were on stage, we only managed to choreograph our stage performance 10 minutes before the show. We suck BIG TIME I tell you but totally enjoyed ourselves…hahahah! Oh by the way, the theme for the night was the 70's style.

I was appointed as one of the organizing committee at the very last minute. So when my number was called for the first round of lucky draw…I could hear my friends teasing, “ohhhhh man, what is the probability of a committee member winning the first round of lucky draw ehhh’’…:-P..Yayaya, how can one manipulate the numbers when the big boss was the one who picked out the number right? Apa dahhh…How I wish, my number was called for the grand prize. I got something cute and handy.

I stayed in the studio apartment...

that's the kitchen and two double beds...all to myself :)

I have never considered myself as a sports person. In fact I have never fancied outdoor activities that involves any kind of running and streneous sports. However, this time round, I did enjoy the telematch and teambuilding sessions. We had to build rafts from scratch and was told that the pond is like 30 feet deep. When I saw the river, I went like ..NO WAY!!!. We had 12 people in a team and only 10 are allowed to go in. Two bosses were not fit to join in. So I had no choice but to go in and sit on the raft. Scary! The rule stated was:- we need to build the raft with the bamboos and tali rafia given and three big tyres. It doesn’t matter what shape the raft turns out to be but it has to float. Life jackets are given and we need to transfer all ten of us from the starting point to the pitch stop - the jetty and the no of rounds we need to make is 6 (back and from) with one paddle for each team/group.

Our team won second place in the overall games. But I still think we were actually the winner because our raft reached the pitch point ahead of the first place team, but the game instructor thought otherwise he said although we reached the jetty first those other guys were on land first, they stopped at the side of the pond. Sigh!! Oh well, like my team mates said what matters is we know we are the winner..hahahah..sour grape betulkan.
