Karma rules...that is SO true!

Do you believe in the ol' saying, "What goes around, comes around"? I...do!!! I was having a chat with a friend a few days back and she was telling me about how evil her ex colleague was in backstabbing her when she first joined the department. Her ex-colleague was so mean and evil that she made my friend's life a living hell. My friend had bad nightmares back then, traumatized by the bad mouthing and "cucuking" but I guess in life one will never know when all that evil/negativity actions would probably do a U-TURN and hit him/her back when she/he least expects it. Luck was on my friend's side where she was fortunate to have gotten her promotion twice and the backstabber currently has been instructed to report directly to my friend, ie. her portfolio, KPI, personal target etc, she needs to get my friend's approval. Life is fair eh. Muahahaha.

So I guess the moral of the story is: Be nice to people, be it your colleagues, friends and especially your parents. Never take them for granted :) I still remember the interesting story my ex-boss used to tell me of a despatch boy who became a prominent guy in one of the major banks in Paris! Oh well, in life you will never know what will hit you next.

Down memory lane....

Surprisingly, I had a very productive weekend. I managed to run a few errands which I had planned earlier prior to the weekend. I was at the bigger Giant Hypermarket in Kelana Jaya with lil Chopie for an outing on Saturday morning since my sis and bro in law had to work and later at One Utama trying to get a wedding gift for a close friend who is getting married next weekend in Tmn Tun. I found something I think she would love in Aussino. A beautiful bed sheet set! Hehe..and I could NOT resist the temptation to get a quilt cover set for myself as well with butterflies as the main motive. I like! :)

Lil Copie trying to be a Queen...or was it a King??

I finally did the gift wrapping..Pheww..done! So I don't have to rush for it next week since I will be in Malacca before the wedding.

My new Quilt cover set....butterflies everywhere :)

Apart from the gift hunting and babysitting, I am also happy that I finally managed to reorganize my already chaotic closet…It took me a whole damn two hours to get everything in place. Managed to organize my tops in their respective colours and those baju kurungs which I did not feel like wearing anymore I had to give it away. And now, wallaa…my closet looks tidier and well within control :P

Then I got my hands on the old photo ablums which I have been dreading to replace for a few months already and boy those albums really had to be replaced with newer ones. I looked at those photos I took when I was travelling, I was probably in my secondary school and university years…I had a good laugh looking at my bad “hair” years..Oh gosh, it was fun, my lil sis joined me with the laughing and giggling while reminiscing. We were comparing all the photos and laughed like crazy. We also saw old pictures of my brother and elder sis and said to ourselves, “well it looks like we are not the only ones with the bad hair stlyes………muaahahaha”, but don’t worry you guys I won't be posting your pictures for now!haha...:P

I am glad that all my photos are now nicely placed in new albums, all I can say is that those pictures just made my day! Gosh, it really has been ages since I really had a good laugh!

By the way below are a few photos that I managed to pull out...they were taken back in year 1996 (spent my easter holiday with my sis in NY, flew from Heathrow) and 1998 (with my family for her graduation).

What an attitude!!

I really felt like strangling someone yesterday. Arrgh! This friend of mine at the office will never fail to amaze me when I am rushing for some important datelines. I have known him for many years and his attitude can be very frustrating at times. Whenever my boss is not around, he always tries to avoid taking up responsibilities. Just like yesterday, he refused to help, he was giving excuses all the way through.

I believe that one has to earn the respect by taking up the responsibilities entrusted to him/her. Only then would others learn to respect him or her. All this frustration I was feeling brought me back to a situation many years ago involving this same annoying friend of mine (friend A) when our office was located at a different floor. I still remember how he abandoned me and my other colleague (friend B) when three gigantic cabinets were toppling on us.

It all happened when friend B and I were checking out some info from the old files stacked in the three high cabinets. The cabinets stood close to each other and had many drawers attached to it and in those drawers we kept thick files for our reference. Those drawers were normally not locked and due to their heaviness, the drawers are normally ajar. So as I was standing next to my colleague looking at one particular file, all the heavy drawers were out of tangent and started to move towards us, they were too heavy to be in their respective slots. With them moving outwards, the high cabinets swayed towards us, it caught me off guard and I was too shocked to alarm the others while friend B screamed as loud and she could, trying her best to help me to stop the cabinets from toppling and that “friend” (friend A) of ours ran as fast as he could from the toppling cabinets. He stood there doing nothing.

The other guys I know from another department heard the commotion and they all ran as fast as they could to help. They managed to salvage the cabinets and supported the cabinets all the way through. Friend B and myself were left speechless. While that “friend “ (friend A) of mine looked from a far. All the guys were screaming at him for abandoning his female colleagues. After that incident I just knew how self centered he can be!

And yesterday he did it again. I felt like strangling him! Orang macam ni pun ada. Loong *sigh*...

Jangan pandang bawah..

When I got this lovely Victoria's Secret body splash from my close friend as a birthday gift last year, I fell in love with it instantly. I have been trying to look around for other Victoria's Secret body splash scents and could only find a few at the Curve's flea market. It cost about RM55 each! (Pretty expensive I would say!!!) So I decided to only get them later either when I am in Bandung this August (I heard they have a Victoria's Secret outlet) or ask a friend heading to US for a favour.

This is called the forbidden fantasy

I was surprised when my close friend came over to the house and handed me more of those silkening body splash bottles this afternoon.....Yippieee!! Two more bottles will keep me busy till my Bandung trip..:) Thanksla babe, you always know what to get me.

Two more, pure seduction and endless love

One of the scary scenes when Darma had a flat tyre in the middle of no where

Ohhh..I finally managed to watch the movie "Jangan Pandang Belakang" the first show @ 11 am yesterday at One U. Oh boy, it is one of the shows where you will be jumping out of your seats once in awhile due to the sound effect and really gory look of the ghost. My verdict would be - just an OK movie! I find the story line a bit too simple, ending was pretty abrupt and Pierre Andre can't really act. He was a little "kaku" for me la. But the ghost was scaryyyyy, the hair, ugly and misfigured face and not to mention the loong nails! Ohhh I noticed there was this first scene where the imam managed to remove the "thingy" from a dead man and as they were putting the kain to cover his body after the exorcism, the dead man's hands moved!...Ehh what happened la? That should be chopped off during editingkan??. I heard one of the radio callers mentioned the same thing as well.

Go and watch folks, if you wanna have some "terkejut" actions here and there. As for those who are pregnant and have weak hearts, you might wanna skip the movie altogether.

Comelnye!...

I was stuck at the KLCC LRT underground station yesterday on my way back home. The rapid staff refused to allow anyone to enter. The so called queues were getting out of control and people were pretty annoyed with the delay. As usual, there were no announcements and everyone was left in the dark, trying to comprehend what was actually going on.

I queued with the rest at first but then I got restless and decided to stand at one corner while waiting for them to solve the problem. While waiting, I got really distracted by a lady who was talking so loud (I mean very loud!!!) on her mobile and everyone kept looking at her hoping that she would get the hint to just shut up. But I guess she was just not bothered as she was oblivious to her surroundings!

Suddenly, I heard someone asking me:-

Him: Hi, what’s up with the massive crowd?
Me : Looking up to check out who the person is……I saw this sooo comel guy, clad in his office attire, checking his PDA with a bar of chocolate in his other hand.. He looked sleek and professional.
Me: I have no idea, all I know is the crowd is getting bigger and no announcement has been made. Arrghh!!
Him : Oh gosh, how long do we need to wait? He smiled while his gestures indicated that was pretty annoyed with the delay. (He had the cutest smile ever I tell you!)
Me : I hope not too long.
Him : Sigh……So do you work nearby?
Me : Yeah. (did not want to reveal too much info in case he turns out to be a psycho la huh..but he surely does not look like one!)
Him : By the way, I am…….(his mobile rang at the same time)
Me : Oh, hello….

Before I could say anything more, the crowd started to move, everyone started to push each other, I was somehow out of tangent and he had to answer his call at the same time (while his hand was waving at me!)…so that was it, a lovely encounter at the subway..Muahahaa :P

I just had to blog about it la.

Moral of the story: Taking the LRT can be fun sometimes :)

It’s a FRIDAY today (yiipiee) and enjoy your weekend folks!

Oh woww....blimey!

I was browsing through the star website this morning when I stumbled upon a very interesting topic. The article was entitled, "MP: Separate LRT coaches for men and women". My reaction at first - are you kidding me!! The Sri Gading member of Parliament was said to have quoted to the local newspaper, Utusan Malaysia that men and women should be traveling separately on the Light Rail Transit (LRT) coaches to avoid any unpleasant experiences.

He said some passengers were not happy and comfortable with the close contact of bodies when the coaches are packed especially during the peak period. Being a frequent user of the LRT service, I agree with him totally! Oh I can imagine the packed commuters in the train with very little air to breathe and all sorts of aroma and odour. His intentions is definitely good and should be accepted positively by the government and public as is protects mainly the interest of the female commuters.

But I am not sure whether is it practical to implement in reality. It would lead to many operational and timeliness issues. During the peak period, the crowd would be too massive to handle and control. Expecting the public to queue is difficult enough and now getting them to go in an all men or women’s coach could be even worse. I hate the packed sardine can scenarios especially during the early mornings and after work traveling!

The LRT operator would have to find ways on how to separate the male from the females in a short period of time whenever the coaches stop at the platforms for a few minutes or less. They might need to bear more operating cost by hiring more staff to control the crazy crowd. Oh and not to forget the public awareness. Currently having them to queue takes a lot of patience and time, every morning I hear the rapid guys screaming at the top of their lungs to get the crowd to behave. To implement this new ruling if it gets approved could be very time consuming. Well, I guess this is my 2 cents worth of opinion.

What say you? Would you prefer the LRT coaches to be segregated via gender?

Fond memories..

Things are looking better now as my head is no longer spinning like a “gasing” and my nose is back to normal. I can smell better now with my nose, phewww! Oh and when I eat…I know whether it taste good or not. My taste bud went haywire and I could not smell a damn single thing for the past two days.

I slept the whole Saturday hoping that I would recover from the bad flu as fast as I could. It sucks big time when you have to stay in bed all day long doing nothing while everyone else is having fun! The Doctor at the office building gave me one of the strongest antibiotics and flu tablets. Hence, that explains why I was knocked out completely the whole day of Saturday.

When Sunday morning came, I felt soo much better. I could not wait to get my butt out of the house and drive somewhere. Hence that explains the Sunday spent with my parents as we headed back to Ulu Langat to visit my aunt. Ever since my grandfather passed away in 2003, going back “kampung” is never the same. I am sure everyone in the family misses having him around. I miss seeing him watching the news on TV while sitting on his bed with the magazine collection of reader’s digest stacked next to him.

When he was still healthy and strong, he never failed to organize the weekend get together with all of us and the must have “satay kajang” as the main menu. He would make sure that his grand kids would be around to entertain him. It would be a normal ritual to have at least one or two of his daughters or son's family to see him on weekends.
However in 2002, his health deteriorated, he did not even know that he had a heart attack. He was complaining of some chest pains and gastritis. We then took him for some tests and the cardiologist confirmed that he had his first heart attack. After that incident, his health was never the same again. By then, the family took over all the get together makan-makan sessions, we would have barbeque sessions where he would just sit in and enjoy the reunions. It has always been a family tradition where it is a necessity to have good food while having a gathering. During my childhood days, I can still remember how my grandfather and aunties would fuss over me when I don't eat anything when I am there. They get worried when me or my siblings show no interest in the food.

He passed away in August 2003 at the age of 84, memories of him will forever be in all our hearts.

I was sitting on his bed yesterday, watching the rerun of AF5 and boy, it definitely brought back fond memories of him. I remembered how much I would look forward to “salam-ing” him during the Rayas especially for those big fat angpaus. All those years in school and university where he would reward each and every one of us whenever we did well in our examinations.

I still see him whenever I see my dad. They look almost identical, the features except that my Dad is darker. Oh and in terms of behaviour, hehehehe tak sama la. Well, I am grateful to have been given those precious years of having him as my grandfather @ nenek, indeed they are fond memories of him that I would always keep close to my heart. :)

Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat. Amin.

Under the weather...

I have been feeling rather sick and crappy for the past few days. My eyes are red, watery and puffy, my nose is about to drop off as a result of the massive sneezing since Wednesday. Why does it always have to happen when I am rushing for submissions?? I had to drag myself to work today even though I felt really exhausted and sick. My fever has subsided but the sneezing never ends. Thank God it’s Friday already! I guess I need to have plenty of rest without feeling guilty over the work load on my desk.
