When it is meant to be..

I don’t know what is wrong with me lately. A few weeks back I was down with viral fever and was given two days off to rest at home. After the antibiotics and other medication I was back at work and continued working as per normal. However, last Friday, I had a bad sore throat and again my body was aching. Gosh, what is wrong with my antibody? Don’t tell me I need to increase the dosage of my antibiotics. This time, I refused to be too dependent on antibiotics, I just drank loads of water and stayed indoor for the whole weekend (By the way, I was practically like a bear rug and a couch potato I tell you).

Today as usual, me and my Monday blues and Alhamdulillah, all the body pain, running nose and sore throat just disappeared. I do hope that they will go away for a very, very long time eh! My sis and I were discussing about having a birthday party for her lil Sophie (picture). Lil Sophie will turn 2 in March and she already knows what she wants for her birthday theme. “Mickey Mouse”! Yikes, at the age of 2, she already has a mind of her own.

I received a few happy and interesting news, one news which till today still keeps me speechless is the news of my close friend’s wedding plans. She called me a few weeks ago to break the important news to me. The conversation we had was as follows:-

Friend : Hey babe. You busy?
Me : Not really. Anything?
Friend : I have some news for you?
Me : OK…What is it?
Friend : I am not able to join you for the Bandung trip in April. Something came up on those dates.
Me : It’s OK, I will just go with my sister and family. Anyway, anything interesting will be happening on those dates?
Friend : I am getting married!
Me : Speechless…You kidding me right??
Friend : Remember the guy that they were trying to match me up with..hehehe. Well, get this, there were sparks flying around everywhere!! Muahaha
Me : Oh man, that was fast…Congratulations babe!!
Friend : I met him 3 weeks back and his parents are coming over this weekend to merisik.
Me : Wow, I am happy for you…Now, tell me more..
Friend : Nanti la we meet up..it is a long story.

I have yet to drill her more on the good news. I am so looking forward to doing that..hehe. She has been through hell after her first marriage collapsed 7 years ago and I saw how difficult it was for her to start all over again financially, mentally and emotionally. Her heart was scared really bad that she had to pursue her studies overseas for a few years just to forget about the marriage that was taken away from her abruptly. Well I guess some things happened for a reason, she is so much stronger now. So, for those of us who still believe in finding that special one and having a happy ending…it does happen and all you need to do is continue having faith in yourself. I am sure God knows what is best for all of us!

Have a good week people..

Scary...

I was in Masjid India yesterday for some shopping. I had a few things to buy in my list i.e, a few batik caftans and a telekung. Since it was still the CNY holiday, we decided to just take the LRT train straight to Masjid Jamek.

I do shop at Masjid India occasionally especially when the kakak needs to get her tudungs and what not. Anyway, while I was infront of a shop at Wisma Yakin, kakak tapped me on the back and said “adik, kita berhenti kat sini aje”. She gave me this alarming and worried look. I quickly went into the shop. She told me about a guy who was following me for about 100 meters or so. And she said the guy pretended to look around for something whenever I stopped to look and check out some stuff. She was suspicious of the guy and she noticed his weird actions as she was walking a few steps behind him. He probably did not know that she was with me, as we normally walk a few meters apart from each other..hehe!

As soon as I heard her story, we decided to plan our strategies and run as fast as we can. As soon as he looked away, both us just ran and used the path along the bazaar where there were stream of people. I was sure he could not detect us as we were among the massive crowd. Pheeeww!

That incident made me think again about Masjid India and its surroundings. I bet the mystery man was probably trying to find a way to snatch my handbag etc. Well, he must have had bad intentions to follow me in that way…I am thankful, nothing bad happened to me. Well, luckily, I had kakak to accompany me as well. Syukur, Alhamdulillah. I guess if you ever decide to go to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman or Masjid India, never go alone eh.

How nasty can one be...

My normal routine for a weekday early in the morning while getting ready for work would be switching from one radio channel to another in search of an interesting topic or good selection of songs. So today, the erra station caught my ears (hehe!) with the “lepas geram” session.

This particular station will normally have the "lepas geram” segment to get listeners to share their experiences and frustrations in life. Sometimes the callers can be so damn funny that you will end up laughing your head off together with them. However today’s story was pretty annoying. I never expected Malaysians to act in a barbaric way! The DJ for today’s morning segment was Khairil and Raja Azura (the other DJ, Kiran was probably on leave). A lady called to share her experience in Tesco. It seems, a few nights ago, she was in Tesco (she was in a rush as she was out of milk supply) looking for her baby’s formula when she unintentionally ramped the trolley into a lady and unfortunately the wheels of the trolley hit the lady’s legs. She kept saying sorry profusely but the lady and her family attacked her verbally, thinking that she ramped the trolley on purpose. She said she was surprised to be caught in a situation where people were cursing, screaming, swearing and saying the meanest things to her. She also said the other lady’s legs looked pretty okay. No major damages.

She did not want to create a big scene thus, she decided to push the trolley away and kept saying sorry repeatedly. She wanted to get away from the messy scene and try to just get her formula and leave. Oh boy, what happened next was traumatizing, the family (the lady, husband and son) came back and search for her from aisle to aisle and once they saw her, they ramped onto her with their trolley. Gosh!!! Talk about being sick!

Well, I have ramped my trolley onto someone unintentionally and someone has ramped his/her trolley onto me…But I know it just an accident, sometimes the wheels just gives way, sometimes the aisles are too narrow. Forgive and forget, you don’t need to be nasty and continue to bully the person. Well, I thought we only have road bullies in Malaysia ehhh!! Oh and I was pretty upset that the DJ could tell the caller never to rush when you do your shopping. It is not about doing things in a rush it is about having a civilized mind and a caring heart.

-----

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel at lost? You have issues that you want to talk to and you need to confide them with someone you trust. Someone who would listen to you talk unconditionally and provide you with views and opinions. That particular person could be a friend, an immediate boss, a colleague or a sibling or anyone you chooses to confide in. And somehow that particular person I chose to confide in, just doesn’t seem to listen to what I have to say. Sigh, why I never learn my lesson la!

Blame it on the weather...

Schmucks, I have been hit by the extreme hot and humid weather. This time round the virus was pretty bad as my throat really hurts and my voice is huskier than normal. I am surprised, even with the gallons of liquid I drank and remaining in door for the weekend still didn’t help me from going down with the flu. I have been down the whole day today and all I could do was sleep, sleep and sleep. I dunno about you guys, but I just hope the draught period will not stay for long. I was at the clinic today and was surprised to see the number of people waiting for the doctor.

Oh well, in the meantime while the bad weather is still in town, I guess it helps if we :-
1. wear comfy and cotton clothing.
2. drink plenty of water.
3. avoid staying out door for a long period of time.
4. do not forget your sun block.

Take care all.

The Indon ties...

Melaka Water City Resort
Life has been rather hectic and crazy for me lately ever since my mentor or senior at work resigned. He had a better job offer and at the same time my boss is still trying to find a replacement for him. We were informed that his replacement would only be coming in probably in a few months time. That leaves me and the rest with more work load and more additional things to learn. Damn! Work is just too tough to handle nowadays, one of my seniors left in January for another department and now the other one is leaving for another organization. I am sure as hell things are gonna be uphill for me and my other colleagues.

Yikes, I only wish life is so simple and easy eh! Oh well, I am just gonna take one day at a time and finally, weekend is just around the corner. Yess! I am dying to just laze around like a bear rug. I am in need of some quality time alone at home since I was on my toes last weekend.

We were at “Watercity Resort Melaka” on Saturday. We had planned the trip many weeks ahead and Alhamdulillah my dad was strong enough to join in the fun. The trip was in fact a family gathering in anticipation of my dad’s birthday. And it was even more memorable for all of us as we had an unexpected guest from Jakarta, one of the paks (actually granduncle but we prefer to call him pak instead coz he is only in his early 50s..hehehe..) It was lovely to see our uncle again after our December trip to Jakarta. The Indon bonding is getting better through time la..:D. My grand uncle who is a small eater was probably shocked to see us going from mee hoon goreng to Secret Recipe’s Chocolate Indulgence to Kuih Keria coated with some brown sugar syrup to seafood at Muara Sungai Duyong. I just hope he didn’t think that the food binging was a daily affair..muaaahahaha…:D Alamak, to think of it, I do hope that will not deter him from visiting us again..:)

Here is to a relaxing weekend…have fun folks!

When it happens so fast

One of the things, I fear most is getting emergency calls from home telling me that someone in the family is sick. Unfortunately, it happened yesterday in the morning. My lil sis and brother called me to tell me that my dad was experiencing heavy headaches and was feeling rather nausea. We were all worried as the first thought that came was another sign of a stroke.
He was warded yesterday for further investigation and observation. They did the ECG test to check his heart beat movements and the doctor took some blood for test. Alhamdulillah he has been discharged today since the doctor was sure it was not a heart attack. Nonetheless, he still needs to come back for more check ups and examinations. They will hook him to a holter (something like the ECG equipement but in a smaller size which will be attached to him for 24 hours). By having the holter with him, his heart beat movements for the day will be monitored and recorded.
I am tired from yesterdays ordeal. Having to sleep at the hospital room is never interesting la huh..I am sure many of you would agree with this....a whole new room with nurses walking in and out.
My only hope is for my dad to always be healthy. InsyaAllah.
Psst, Lessons Learnt: Never ever take my parents for granted. And all siblings (no matter how different each and everyone is) should stick together to overcome any obstacles in life.
