Jalan-jalan cari makan..

I have always been a crazy fan of Chinese cuisine. This craze I have for Chinese food came about when I was little, having being forced to attend the frequent family dinners in the Lake Club’s Chinese Restaurant. Yikess, back then, I had no choice but to acquire the skills of using the chopsticks as fast as I could. I dread using the chopsticks back then as it was pretty difficult eating rice with the main dishes. However after those frequent tormenting sessions, I finally mastered the skills (hehe..I am a slow learner!). I am so glad I did not give up on that coz now I love eating noodles with my chopsticks, even at home. :)

Last Saturday, the family decided for another “jalan-jalan cari makan” session and ended up at the Dataran Glomac, Kelana Jaya. We all agreed to go for the Chinese Muslim dishes at Aladdin Restaurant. I have been reading excellent reviews about the chef who originates from China and his specialties. So without any hesitation, the whole gang were there on Saturday night trying out the wonderful food and selection of drinks i.e, ice blended chocolate, Hong Kong coffee, Strawberry Jasmine Tea, Passion Tea, Apple Mint Milkshake and Ice Vanilla. I was impressed with the fact that they actually have a wide variety of drinks. I am so sure I would be coming back for more.

Apart from the wide selection of drinks, the food is definitely worth mentioning! They were not only freshly prepared but they were cooked with fine ingredients and it just satisfies my taste buds. Well, I don’t need to travel all the way to China to get good Chinese food eh. My dad who was in Beijing many years ago could never forget the food he had back in China. But after Aladdin, he seems to be happy with the quality of food, the deco and the variety of dishes.

Butter prawn

Black mushroom with broccoli

Kerapu and broccoli

Siakap in asam pedas....yummy!

The drinks...

Psst, I think Aladdin should be paying me some commission for the good reviews eh!! Haha

Well, the family will be heading for Muara Sungai Duyong, Malacca this weekend for their famous fresh seafood...Yiippie :)

The beautiful ghost and me...

When it comes to reading, I would normally opt for the chick lit kinda books but lately I realized that my preferences have somehow diverted to a different type, I am currently so glued to Danielle Steel's collection. It all started when a friend of mine passed me a book of hers entitled "The Ghost". Well it is a story of a beautiful ghost, nothing scary about it except it touches your heart and makes you feel as though the two main characters are really close to your heart. I could not resist the book and am glad I finished reading it in 2 days. Being a sucker for love stories, obviously I found it pretty inspiring.

Anyways, as I was browsing through the bookshelves at Kinokuniya today, I told myself, may be I should get another book by Danielle Steel. I got myself "The Kiss", that would keep me occupied for the weekend. I didn't have the chance to check out the reviews earlier though, I do hope it is worth reading eh :D

Oh well, have a great weekend folks..:)

Back to nature....

I never knew that right smack in the middle of the city, there is still well preserved land and water stream for all of us to enjoy. Well, when my brother told me that there is a wonderful spot for some family get-together. I was like huh not in KL, I have not seen any waterfall or 'sungai' in Ulu Kelang eh?

So we made prior arrangements and today at about 10 am, the whole gang headed for the “Joran Terjun”, located at the hilly top of Kemensah and next to zoo view. Oh boy was I surprised to see the man made picnic spots in front of a running stream with little fishes in it. I was like…no way in Ulu Kelang! Wow…it surely feels as though I was getting close to nature again. The caretaker of the Joran collects a standard entrance fee for those opting to sit in the man made huts/gazebo. I guess they need the money to ensure that the area and the stream are well maintained. The area was neither dirty nor crowded when we came at about 10.30 am. Nonetheless, the crowd got larger when lunch time approaches. We saw a family bringing in a barbeque pit for some food fiesta.

The entrance to the Joran Terjun

The professional swimmers :P

All of us testing the waters at 10.30 am...sejuukkkkk...

Food for stamina..hehehe

Hungry as always..:P

Hahaha...my bro busy doing his meditation while in the water. Oooor is he trying to see whether he can still touch his toes...

The man made equipement for the so called divers ..

Hahaha..macam riding on a little mermaid....

As always, spending precious time with my family has always been my priority in life. We had so much fun and left at about one plus as the kids refused to leave the 'sungai'. Hmm, was it the kids or the adults??hahahaha :)

So for you guys who are into nature, do check this place out as they even provide small huts for those who intend to stay over night.

Last minute instructions can be a killer!

Arrghh, I just hate it whenever my boss rushes to my cubicle first thing in the morning and insist that I sit in for a meeting. Well, that happened to me early in the morning right after I arrived at the office. I was clueless about the meeting and was never been informed about the agenda or the issues raised by the parties involved. The meeting was to start in 10 minutes and was held in a different tower. Oh well, I guess something came up and he had no choice but to send me as a representative. I was not given the opportunity to gather any info from him on the meeting and its purpose. Oh and the worst part is, he did not have the time to brief me or even forward me any information on the agenda or critical issues that needs to be addressed upon. Damn. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do la huh in situations like this!

So, I read the hardcopy agenda, which I got from a colleague (thank GOD!) while waiting for the lift and trying my best to absorb whatever I can and think of issues that are bound to pop up. I hate that feeling of being unprepared and less equipped while sitting for a meeting. You would not want to be clueless in a meeting where big bosses will be looking directly at you and anticipating answers from you ASAP. I prefer to be fully equipped mentally when they ever decide to drill me on certain issues. :P

Oh well, the meeting went smoothly. They had no issues that involved me.. Fuuh! What a way to start my day eh. Hmm, I guess that’s life. Shit happens!

When you marry young...

I was in Setiawangsa yesterday for my nephew's wedding (cousin's son). Thus far, this nephew of mine holds the family record for marrying at a very young age (referring to the family's records). He is currently either 23 or 24 and the girl is probably 19. They met when he was in Victoria Institution and she was a student in another nearby school. I am so amazed on how committed they are to tie the knot and start a life together at a very young age. I am sure it was not an easy thing because at that age, you seem to want everything in life, a career, a car, freedom etc. Hmm, this came across my mind, as I can never picture me, myself being married at 19...at that age, if I can recall was all about getting into a university and pursuing a degree. But then again, each and every one of us would want different things in life, we pursue different things as well and I guess as long as we are happy with our lives, so be it eh.
Anyways, wishing the newly weds, Congratulations!!...:)

Do you believe in “love at first sight”?

I was having tea with a friend after work today and our topic for the day was the above subject. I used to believe in the terminology of “love at first sight”, that particular point of time when you bump into or see a person for the very first time, and you subconsciously realize that deep in your heart that he or she is your soul mate, your Mr/Ms RIGHT, you feel the chemistry and you sense the sparks, the attraction and the butterflies in your stomach. You think he is the ONE!!

Well, back then when I was a teenager, I would believe that one can fall head over heels in love with someone at the very first sight. Hehe. This perception about love at first sight comes from someone who spends most of her teenage era reading Mills & Boons, Sweet Dreams, Sweet Valley High… etc. But now if you were to ask me again the same question, my answer would be NO, I don’t believe in love at first sight. It could be an infatuation or a crush but not love.

Love for me, only develops when you know a person’s character, personality, traits and attitude. Love grows through time, it doesn’t happen there and then. Love is not about having the hots or infatuation for someone. It grows and it develops naturally, you can't force to make it happen. I could be wrong here but that’s how I feel about love at first sight! What about you, do you believe in love at first sight?? Have you gone through the phase where you just know you love that person as soon as you first laid your eyes on him or her?

Sometimes....

I have been feeling rather blue lately with some things not working my way and also a few resolutions which was set for 2006 which did not follow through as well. Oohh well, I guess at the end of the day, we can plan but it is all in God’s hands eh!. Like it or not, year 2007 is here and I have decided to brave through it come what may. :P , Oh Gosh, I can be such a drama queen sometimes. I wish life is so much simpler.

I can see a tougher year for me this year in terms of career as I am currently being given a bigger responsibility and portfolio. There goes my social life for the first few months. :P My immediate boss left to join another department and I am asked to take over her functions. I am definitely anticipating more hectic datelines and not to forget those demanding and crazy bosses in the organization.

Apart from the hectic work life, I foresee myself travelling more this year for some space and fresh air. Insya Allah.

All in all, I do not intend to have any new year resolution for 2007 as I know, I can never fulfill them, hence I am just gonna take one day at a time. I know some friends of mine are going for new year resolutions such as:-

To quit smoking/drinking
To enjoy life more
To appreciate life more
To exercise more and lead a healthier life
To get organized etc….

I wish them luck and I am sure the result would be very rewarding. Happy New Year all! May year 2007 brings us more joy and happiness!

Lets start the new year with something on CINTA! :)

Cinta bukan mengajar kita lemah, tetapi membangkitkan kekuatan. Cinta bukan mengajar kita menghinakan diri, tetapi menghembuskan kegagahan. Cinta bukan melemahkan semangat, tetapi membangkitkan semangat

Setiap orang punya rasa cinta. Tapi tak semua orang dapat merasai cinta. Setiap orang pernah bercinta. Tapi tak semua mampu mengecapi bahagia. Bercinta memang mudah.
